about
Part 1
I was most recently employed as the Design Supervisor for Environments for Neill Blomkamp's Elysium and as Matte Painter on Katheryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty, and prior to this as a Matte Painter and Lead at Industrial Light & Magic.I've been working in visual effects since 1996 when I was hired as Designer and Matte Painter for the TV show Stargate SG1 and in 2000 moved to ILM to work on StarWars Episode II and stayed in the Bay Area to work with Tippett, Giant Killer Robots, Evil Eye, The Orphanage and Rhythm & Hues on projects such as Avatar, Transformers, The Matrix Revolutions, Fantastic Four, Superman Returns and others. My work for vfx has focused mainly on Matte Painting, Visual Design and Illustration, though I've worked as a Matte Painter, Art Director, Lighter, Layout Artist & Texture Painter. I enjoy the tech aspects of the work and the matte painting I do is usually heavily slanted toward fully 3d shots and integrated CG environment work.I feel the base of everything I do is a solid background in and love of the arts and an interest in understanding and working with technology, both established and emerging. Its a pretty exciting time to be involved in VFX and I'm happy to be along for the ride.
