about
Part 1
I've been working in visual effects since 1996 when I was hired as the Graphic Designer for the tv show Stargate SG1 and moved the next year to be the Graphic Design Supervisor and staff Matte Painter. I left Stargate at the end of 2000 to work at Industrial Light & Magic on StarWars Episode II and have stayed in the Bay Area since to work with Tippett, Giant Killer Robots, Evil Eye, The Orphanage and Rhythm & Hues on projects such as The Matrix Revolutions, Fantastic Four, Superman Returns and others. I returned to ILM as staff in mid 2010 for Avatar and Transformers. My work for vfx has focused mainly on Matte Painting, Visual Design, Illustration and Art Direction, though I also enjoy the tech aspects of the work and the matte painting I do is usually heavily slanted toward fully 3d shots and integrated CG environment work. The base of everything I do is a solid background in and love of the arts and an interest in understanding and working with technology, both established and emerging. Its an exciting time to be in visual effects.
